THE DECISION
When you made the decision
to live for Jesus, more than you realize took place in your life. You changed. Not like the old saying, “When I looked at my hands they looked
new, and when I looked at my feet they did too.” Your appearance is the same, but you have experienced a new birth
of your spirit. Your spirit is now
alive to God, but there remains the process of the submission of your soul and
flesh to God.
Submission is the key factor
to growing into a mature Christian. God receives us when we receive Him at the
salvation decision, but the enemy will always come to remind you of your past
sins. The enemy attacks with feelings
of condemnation when your behavior falls into its former pattern. When you became born again you were as a
newborn baby. What baby have you ever
known to be born fully mature? The
growth, knowledge, and wisdom you receive from God after your decision comes
with obedience to His way of doing things, which is the maturing process, the
continuing salvation process.
As a woman of God, your
first decision after receiving Jesus must be submission. You must agree to submit your life to God in
order to overcome the issues in your former life. Sexual sin is an especially
prevalent issue, but God is our deliver and healer. Submission is mandatory in order for the deliverance and healing
process to begin. Your spirit has been
born again, but your soul (mind, will, and emotions) and flesh must learn to
obey the Spirit of God instead of former habits.

My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings.
Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your
heart.
For they are life to those that find them, healing and health to all
their flesh.

THERE IS A WAR GOING ON
When you make a decision for
Christ, you are enlisted in the army of the Lord. You are a soldier, and because of your position with God, the
devil has declared war against you. We
don’t consider ourselves at war, but that does not change the
circumstance. You made the decision to
live for Christ, and the fight is on.
This knowledge will help you to have a clear understanding when the
issues of your former life begin to show their ugly faces. The devil will fight to keep you bound to
those issues, especially sexual sins.
Isaiah 41:10-11 KJV
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I
will strengthen thee: yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the
right hand of my righteousness.

DESIRE OR IMAGINATION?
Desires are often inspired by God. Desires placed in our hearts by God pull and tug on us. They are like hunger pains that cause us to strive for something better in life. Desires are that hidden part of us that we long to see come true. For example, you may have the desire to be married, have children, or a new home. You may also have the desire to give someone love and receive love in return. God placed these desires and many others in women. Women were created to be helpmates. A helpmate yearns to function in her God-given position. Once you have been placed in your position, knowing you are helping meet a God-given purpose in some one else life quenches the thirst of a helpmate.

Delight
yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of
your heart.
However, the enemy will try to pervert the desires that God has placed in you. He will plant thoughts and vain imaginations in your mind that serve as a temporary fix for your true desires. He will tempt you to imagine yourself with that man on the job, although he is married. Maybe it will be the unmarried guy who lives across the way from you who appears to know what a woman needs.
Imaginations are easy to obtain, while desires develop and run deep, because they require faith, patience and trust in God. Fulfillment of imaginations requires only a little persuasion, if you are open to them. Imaginations (the devil’s suggestions) have you picturing things in your mind you never thought you would consider. These imaginations, if you entertain them or allow them to continue, are what Paul calls in Galatians, “giving place to the devil”. Once the devil realizes that you have given place to his suggestions, he will accommodate you, and before you know it, a very willing participant is staring you right in the face, saying just what you want to hear, and willing to do whatever you want to do. The devil will try to find out how susceptible you are to his suggestions. If you continue to meditate on Satan’s suggestions, don’t be surprised when what is in your imagination ends up standing right before your eyes!
